City Career Fair, owned by “Diversity Pimps” Neal William Morrison and Ashley Morrison, have a PhD in the exploitation of disenfranchised diverse workers. The Morrisons pretend to help the plight of the diverse jobseeker, when in reality they are “Culture Vultures”, who profit off cheating said diverse employees out of travel overtime, lunch breaks, and a promised bonus.

However, I soon discovered a litany of shockingly blatant labor law violations purveyed from this RECRUITING event company, and knew - I couldn’t just walk away without exposing their pervasive employment corruption.


Worse, this recruiting company that touts “lifting up marginalized jobseekers” is nothing more than a culture vulture - a modern day carpetbagger - that flagrantly violates its diverse employees “workers rights” to enrich its co-owners! Little did Neal and Ashley Morrison realize, they unknowingly hired a Worker's Rights activist!

What is City Career Fair? City Career Fair (CCF) hosts 30 job fairs nationwide and markets to candidates from historically marginalized communities (People of Color, LGBTQIA+, Disabled, etc.) to populate their job fairs.

CCF purports to “provide recruiters access to the United States’ largest pool of ethnically varied, diverse, and qualified professionalsper their website. CCF sells table space to recruiters on the premise they can “provide an opportunity for nationally recognized and top local employers to meet and interview qualified candidates from the ethnically varied and diverse communities of their city.” Sounds great at face value, but in reality, Neal and Ashley Morrison exploit their diverse work staff to fund their luxurious lifestyle  that includes owning 3 houses (Downey, Palm Springs, & Cabo San Lucas)  and a freaking horse!

I am sure I was not the only “Travel Show Coordinator” to get shorted by the scheming Morrisons.

2. Ashley Morrison Dupes You Straight Out The Gate With A Bad Faith Deal. Ashley, who is in charge of accounting and finances, signed me up to work 2, 8-hour days per trip with a variable bonus that is supposed to increase the further away a job fair was from LA. Ex: Seattle would be a $175 bonus, while NYC was allegedly $500.  Little did I know, Ashley Morrison was not negotiating in good faith. The only problem with this shifty deal is Ashley knows full well that Day 2 ALONE of these trips is nearly a 16-hour day in itself!


How does Ashely know this?


Ashley has worked these events for decades and is a company co-owner for 25 years!


Thus, Ashley can't claim ignorance for her negotiating chicanery. Impressively, Ashley already has intentionally cheated me out of at least 8 hours of pay on EVERY future trip - before I have even worked ONE trip for City Career Fair!

REALITY CHECK #2: Ashley presumably hustles travel workers out of nearly 8 additional hours of pay  at time and a half or double time — because Ashley knows few jobseekers understand the nuances of CA employment regulations regarding overnight travel jobs. Plus, as I found out, questioning your pay will cost you your job!

As such, many workers don’t even realize Ashley is screwing them out of money upon being hired!

When dealing with someone as dishonest as Neal Morrison from City Career Fair, you need to catch his duplicity on a recording device to provide receipts on his double-dealing ass.

3. Neal William Morrison Intentionally Works You Overtime Off The Clock.  Then, Neal Plays Dumb When Asked If You Will Be Paid Accordingly.

I decided to bide my time and work a few more indentured servitude trips until we were in a “one party recording state” and in a public setting to LEGALLY record Neal’s responses when I finally confront him on some of the back pay that I was owed for services rendered.


Neal played fell into my trap and played dumb — before passing the responsibility off to his wife, Ashley.

If I were Ashley, I would check her prenup’s fine print!


REALITY CHECK #3: An honest company that shorted an employee unintentionally on their paycheck would fall over themselves to rectify — or at least discuss the matter in a sensitive manner. Instead, Neal didn’t even want to acknowledge the overtime I worked the DAY BEFORE, under his direction, which took place in front of the hotel event staff witnesses! Not only is Neal a thief, but a coward too.

4. Neal Morrison Tries to Manipulate You Into Not Taking Full Lunch Breaks. During our nearly 40-minute long, UNPAID prep call before my first trip with CCF to Seattle, I asked Neal about when will we take our lunch breaks. Neal coolly replied, “We usually don’t take lunch breaks until AFTER the event. Sometimes, we don’t eat until we check in (for our return flight) at the airport.” I paused in disbelief.


This "mofo" expects me to work nearly 12 straight hours without eating?


Still, I didn’t think an employer in 2025 would be so obviously stupid as to try to suppress lunch breaks. Oh, how naïve I was!


Sure enough, Neal did not break out our temporary staff (who were all diverse workers), nor myself, for lunch during our Seattle trip!


We worked through lunch and ingested food intermittently during slow foot traffic, but Neal never gave us full 30-minute lunch breaks  forcing me to not have a dedicated lunch break until 9:30pm — on the plane ride home. In Phoenix, Neal (who would falsely claim that he doesn’t pay attention to finances like employee base pay or when an employee goes into overtime) actually interrupted my lunch break to inquire if I was eating an unused, sh*tty leftover lunch box earmarked for an employer.


  • Spoiler Alert: I didn’t. I knew Neal’s cheap ass would probably charge his tasteless, bargain-basement box lunch against my food stipend.

  • In Chicago, Neal attempted to suppress my lunch break again due to his poor planning and cheapness. I told him, “I am thinking about going to lunch around 1pm, can you cover the front?” Neal responded, “Just grab a bite and come back in 10 minutes.

  • I was furious and almost broke my cover. Recomposed, I stood my ground and calmly stated, “I need my full 30 minute break.” At that moment, undercover investigation or not, I decided another man would never tell me if I can exercise my full rights to a complete, uninterrupted lunch break.

  • Like any other bully, Neal backed down when I bowed up.

REALITY CHECK #4: Deep down, Neal Morrison knows you aren’t working for City Career Fair if you have any other viable options. Therefore, Neal will cross your boundaries of working you for free off the clock, being oppositional to lunch breaks if his job fair is busy, or feigning ignorance when faced with complaints of unpaid wages — if it lines his pockets. Don’t let your desperation, set you up for manipulation!

Neal and Ashley Morrison likely have a net worth in the millions and live the good life. Yet, they cheat travel workers out of nearly 8 hours of overtime every trip.

5. Neal Morrison Had No Problem Breaking Out An Apparent All-White Team for Lunch Despite his obvious character flaws, I never thought Neal was a racist. I simply assumed Neal was an equal opportunity offending carpetbagger who is only loyal to one color — green.

That said, Neal needs to explain to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), why he had no problem breaking out a temporary day staff team of women for lunch — who appeared to be very Caucasian — during our Phoenix event while the Seattle team comprised of 2 Asian Americans and a Native American, weren’t afforded that same courtesy? Perhaps, Neal Morrison merely practices the soft bigotry of low expectations? Maybe Neal Morrison assumes minorities don’t know their employment rights, so they are easier to exploit? Or, Neal Morrison might believe a cadre of white women stay lawyered up and are more likely raise a stink if they are denied their legally-entitled lunch break. Either way, I’m confident EEOC investigators will uncover Neal's motives for appearing benevolent to Caucasian women while manipulating diverse staff to work through their lunch breaks without the required premium pay under California law. Reality Check #5: City Career Fair may promote diversity hiring, but the best way to assist downtrodden diverse workers is to pay them what you owe, negotiate in good faith, and don't blatantly infringe on their employment rightsjust because you can!

As evidenced, it’s sad and disgusting to see Neal and Ashley Morrison build their wealth on the backs of diverse jobseekers by taking advantage of their knowledge of CA state travel employment regulations to cheat them and banking on their desperate workers' ignorance on such laws.


This time though, the hunters will become the hunted when City Career Fair will be forced to defend their treacherous business model in the open court of public opinion in the social media square — and possibly other courtrooms!
